Sam Raimi reveals the progress of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness

A lot of curiosity has been surrounding the upcoming MCU entrant, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, ever since reports about the film undergoing extensive reshoots emerged late last year. There are speculations about script re-writes and possible cameos from other Marvel characters in the film.

Director Sam Raimi, during a recent media interaction, spoke about the film. While he didn't concretely establish the status of the film, his responses will definitely put fans at ease. When asked about whether filming is complete, Raimi told Variety, "I wish I knew the answer to that question. I think we’re done, but we just cut everything."

Speaking about the likelihood of re-edits and last-minute corrections that might come his way, the filmmaker added,  "We’re just starting to test the picture and we’ll find out if there’s anything that’s got to be picked up. If something’s unclear or another improvement I can make in this short amount of time left, I’ll do it. One thing I know about the Marvel team is they won’t stop. They’ll keep pushing it until it’s as close to being great as it could.”

Appreciating the creative team, Raimi said, "Marvel’s been a great team to work with,” Raimi continued. “I’ve been super-supported by the whole Marvel operations, starting at the top with Kevin Feige, and working all the way down to the crews that they work with."

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently slated to hit the marquee on May 6 and stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Elizabeth Olsen.
