The Academy Awards is finally set to have a host this year, after three years of being hostless. The upcoming 94th Academy Awards has been planned to air on March 27.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Tom Holland, of Spider-Man: No Way Home fame, had expressed interest in hosting the Oscars, and it has been learnt now that the Academy has reached out to him to explore that option.

It was announced earlier this Monday that Glenn Weiss will direct the Oscars telecast (for the seventh time), with Will Packer as producer.

Jimmy Kimmel hosted the Academy Awards in 2017 and 2018, with a massive 26.62 million people watching it. The count for 2019’s hostless Oscars surprisingly rose to 29.56 million, before dipping in 2020 to 23.64 million and then dropping to a disappointing 10.40 million last year.
