Official trailer out for Weird: The Al Yankovic Story starring Daniel Radcliffe

The film will reportedly be parodying celebrity biopics by showing Yankovic going through a torrid lifestyle filled with scandals and love affairs, which actually never happened in real life

The official trailer for Weird Al Yankovic biopic titled Weird: The Al Yankovic Story is out now. The film stars Daniel Radcliffe as singer/songwriter Weird Al Yankovic. The quirky trailer shows us the singer’s ascension to fame as he gains notoriety for making parody videos. 

Yankovic is a world-renowned artist, who became famous for parodying popular music videos. His version of Micheal Jackson’s song Bad titled Fat, and Eat it which parodies Beat it, are some of the most popular parodies on the internet.

The film is directed by Eric Appel and stars Evan Rachel Wood, Rainn Wilson, Toby Huss, and Julianne Nicholson in supporting roles. The biopic is scheduled to release on the US streaming service The Roku Channel on November 4.

‘Weird' Al Yankovic is the biggest-selling comedy recording artist, a five-time Grammy winner and his 2014 release Mandatory Fun happens to be the first comedy album to debut at number one on Billboard's Top 200 chart.

According to the makers, the film will be a humorously fictionalised account of Yankovic’s meteoric rise to fame. The film will reportedly be parodying celebrity biopics by showing Yankovic going through a torrid lifestyle filled with scandals and love affairs, which actually never happened in real life.
