Animated sci-fi anthology Love, Death, and Robots is renewed for season 4 at Netflix

Love, Death, and Robots is renewed for a new season at Netflix. The animated anthology series is known for dealing with a colourful range of futuristic science-fiction themes. The show was particularly lauded for its use of wildly different animation styles for each episode. The series received critical praise ever since its first season in 2019, it went on to win 12 Emmy nominations throughout its three-year run.

The series was developed for Netflix by Tim Miller, who is known for directing the first Deadpool film starring Ryan Reynolds in the lead. Prolific filmmaker David Fincher, known for directing Fight Club and Gone Girl, is executive producing the show along with Tim Miller, Jennifer Miller, and Joshua Donen.

The show is also appreciated for allowing animators from around the world to test run their experimental animation styles. The short story format also allows the use of high-end, complicated CG work, which would normally take months to render, making them unfeasible for feature-length productions. The list of animation studios that are expected to run, along with new talents who might join, are yet to be known. The series is expected to release sometime towards the end of 2024.
