Andy Serkis set to make a series on the founder of Madame Tussauds

Andy Serkis is reportedly directing and producing a series on the life of Marie Tussaud, the founder of the popular wax museum Madame Tussauds. Titled Madame!, the series will follow the life of the french visual artist and entrepreneur, most known for founding the wax museum. Established in 1835, the wax museum is most known for creating life-like wax replicas of famous personalities from all around the world.

The series will revolve around Marie as she hones her skill during the enlightenment movement in the art community, and then escapes to England following social unrest in her country. She then comes back to France to start her wax museum. Imaginarium, the production house founded by Jonathan Cavendish and Andy Serkis is developing the series while Serkis is currently credited as the creator and showrunner. Marie Guillaumond is also co-producing the show under her banner Felicita Films.

Andy Serkis rose to prominence with his motion capture work for Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy. He is now widely regarded as a pioneer of motion capture work. He recently directed the sequel to Venom titled Venom: Let There Be Carnage and is currently working on an animated adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm.
