Patrick J Adams to star in Amazon's A League Of Their Own series
The series is a reimagination of the 1992 Penny Marshall film
Actor Patrick J Adams has been roped in to play a recurring role opposite Abbi Jacobson in Amazon's upcoming series A League Of Their Own. The series is a reimagination of the 1992 Penny Marshall film.
The hourlong series is described as a fresh approach to the classic, about the real-life All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. It will follow new characters who embody the spirit of a generation of women who dreamed to play professional baseball. Amazon's description of the show reads, “The show takes a deeper look at race and sexuality, following the journey of a whole new ensemble of characters as they carve their own paths towards the field, both in the league and outside of it."
Adams will play Charlie, a handsome, midwestern husband who is on his way home soon from fighting overseas during WWII. He’s eager to return to his life back home with his wife Carson (Jacobson).
A League of Their Own is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television in association with Field Trip Productions. The series is co-created and executive produced by Will Graham and Abbi Jacobson. Field Trip’s Hailey Wierengo and Desta Tedros Reff will serve as executive producers. Jamie Babbit has directed the pilot and will also serve as an executive producer.
Adams is known for starring as Mike Ross in the legal drama Suits. He also starred as Major John Glenn in Nat Geo's adaptation of The Right Stuff.
