Netflix's Bridgerton season 2 to premiere on this date

The much-awaited season 2 of Netflix's Bridgerton will premiere on March 25. The streamer announced the news through a short video featuring the cast.

Based on Julia Quinn's bestselling novels, the first season, which premiered in December last year, revolved around the romance and marriage between the eldest Bridgerton daughter, Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon Basset, Duke of Hastings (Rege Jean-Page). Season 2 will follow Lord Anthony Bridgerton (Jonathan Bailey), the eldest Bridgerton sibling and Viscount, as he sets out to find a suitable wife.

The first season became Netflix’s most-watched show of all time after it was watched by a record 82 million households around the world. It was only recently eclipsed by the South Korean series Squid Game.

Season two of Bridgerton stars Shelley Conn, Calam Lynch and Rupert Young. They join additional returning stars Adjoa Andoh, Lorraine Ashbourne, Harriet Cains, Bessie Carter, Phoebe Dynevor, Ruth Gemmell, Florence Hunt, Martins Imhangbe, Claudia Jessie, Luke Newton, Golda Rosheuvel, Luke Thompson, Will Tilston, Polly Walker and Julie Andrews. It was announced earlier that Page won't be returning for the second season.

The show has Van Dusen serving as the showrunner. Bridgerton is produced by Shonda Rhimes’ Shondaland through the production vehicle Household Pictures.
