Actor Daniel Webber is all set to star opposite Tom Blyth in the upcoming drama series Billy The Kid.

Written by Michael Hirst, the creator of Vikings and The Tudors, the hour-long drama is described as an epic romantic adventure based on the life of Billy the Kid (Blyth), who is also known as William H Bonney. The story will track his humble Irish roots and early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier to his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond.

Webber is all set to play the role of Jesse Evans, the leader of Seven Rivers Gang who meets Billy when both of them are teenagers. Unlike Billy, Jesse has already embraced a life of crime: robbing stores and cattle rustling. If not for Billy, Evans would have become the most famous outlaw taking part in the Lincoln County Wars.

In the eight-episode first season, the first two episodes are set to be directed by Otto Bathurst.

Billy The Kid is executive produced by Hirst, Donald De Line of De Line Pictures, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey of Amblin Television, and Bathurst and Toby Leslie via One Big Picture. The series is a co-production between Epix Studios and MGM International Television Productions, in association with Nordic Entertainment Groups' streaming service Viaplay.

Webber is best known for his lead role in Netflix’s The Dirt. He can currently be seen as the co-lead in indie Escape From Pretoria opposite Daniel Radcliffe. On TV, he was last seen as Lewis Wilson in Marvel’s The Punisher. He most recently wrapped up production for the indie comedy Seriously Red.
