Shankar to direct Ram Charan, Pawan Kalyan in multi-starrer?

Rampant speculations are making the rounds on social media that renowned director Shankar is joining hands with Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan for a multi-starrer project. The hearsay gained prominence a day after fans of Ram Charan met the actor at their annual meet-and-greet event on the sets of Acharya.

A source close to the development informed Cinema Express that Shankar, who is currently directing Kamal Haasan in Indian 2 (Bharateeyudu 2), has recently bounced a storyline to Ram Charan and Pawan Kalyan. "Shankar pitched the script much to the liking of Ram Charan and the director is waiting for Pawan Kalyan to go through it completely. If the latter gives his nod, the project may see the light later this year," says the source.

Touted to be a social-emotional drama, the film has little scope for visual effects (VFX). "The story, which offers emotional heft and poignancy, is inspired by real incidents. While Ram Charan plays the lead, Pawan Kalyan will be seen in an extended cameo seen throughout the film."

Meanwhile, Pawan Kalyan, who awaits the release of Vakeel Saab, has already signed a film each with directors Saagar K Chandra, Krish, and Harish Shankar. Ram Charan, on the other hand, is shooting for his Magadheera director SS Rajamouli's upcoming period drama, RRR (Roudram Ranam Rudhiram).
