Tom Hanks, Rita Wilson test positive for coronavirus

The entire world is reeling under the impact of the coronavirus, and yesterday, the World Health Organisation officially declared the illness a pandemic.

Earlier today, actor Tom Hanks took to social media to announce that he, and his wife and actor Rita Wilson, have been affected by the deadly virus.

Incidentally, they were in Australia and are now being treated and kept in isolation.

In a small note, Hanks said, "Hello, folks. Rita and I are down here in Australia. We felt a bit tired, like we had colds, and some body aches. Rita had some chills that came and went. Slight fevers too. To play things right, as is needed in the world right now, we were tested for the coronavirus, and were found to be positive."

"Well, now. What to do next? The Medical Officials have protocols that must be followed. We Hanks’ will be tested, observed, and isolated for as long as public health and safety requires. Not much more to it than a one-day-at-a-time approach, no?" he added.

Hanks was accompanied by Wilson for the shooting of Baz Luhrmann's Elvis Presley biopic, in which the veteran actor plays the iconic singer's long-time manager,  Colonel Tom Parker.
