Mudhal Mariyadhai-fame Deepan makes a comeback in C/O Kadhal

We had previously reported that the critically-acclaimed Telugu film C/O Kancharapalem is getting a Tamil remake titled C/O Kadhal. It's now known that actor Deepan, who is known for playing a supporting role in Bharathiraja's cult hit Muthal Mariyathai, will be making a comeback to Tamil cinema with this film.

Director Hemambar Jasti, who is making his debut with C/O Kadhal, says, "I met Deepan sir at the airport a few months back and I didn't know that he had already acted in films. I felt that he would be the perfect fit for an important character in C/O Kadhal. When I first approached him, he said he was not interested, but I got his contact and kept trying to convince him. After a month, he finally agreed." 

Hemambar adds that the role Deepan plays required a lot of work. "We conducted three-month-long workshops for him and then got him to interact with the rest of the cast. I even made him shout out his dialogues in public so he could let go of inhibitions. To make it look authentic, we got him to wear second-hand clothes as well."

Also starring Vetri of Jiivi fame, C/O Kadhal will hit the screens later this month.
