Though playing Sivagami Devi in Baahubali series gave Ramya Krishnan nation-wide fame in recent times, the seasoned actor has worked across film industries including Bollywood even back in the 90s.

Ramya acted in films like Kalnayak, Criminal, Shapath, and Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan. However, she did not continue to act in Bollywood films. In a recent interview with IANS, the actor has revealed the reason behind her absence from B-Town.

"I didn't take a break. Basically, my films didn't do well and I didn't take any interest in the offers (that were coming her way). Meanwhile, I was doing very well for myself in South Indian films," she said.

She signed in for a Tamil-Hindi bilingual starring Amitabh Bachchan but the project didn't take off for unknown reasons.

Nevertheless, Ramya is now part of a Hindi-Telugu bilingual starring Vijay Deverakonda Ananya Pandey in the lead roles. Talking about the project, she said, "It is co-produced by Karan Johar. Puri Jagannadh is the director. That is going to be another...almost a Baahubali for sure."

She is currently spending time with her family in this lockdown era and will soon return to the sets for shooting.
