The actor in Stunt Silva

Action choreographer Stunt Silva will make his acting debut in Malayalam through Mammootty-starrer Streetlights
The actor in Stunt Silva

He is the man behind some high voltage action sequences we have enjoyed on the screen. Now, action choreographer Stunt Silva is all set to make his debut as an actor in the Mammootty-starrer Streetlights

Director Shamdat Sainudheen says it was Silva's unique looks and voice that prompted him to cast him. In the end, the stuntman gave such a great performance that it floored the director himself. "Silva just outscored my expectations. Whenever he expressed hesitation, I was sure that he could be a good actor too because we all act at some point in our life," says Shamdat.

But, Silva says he was tensed because he had to perform opposite Mammootty. "I have done two or three-minute-long sequences in movies like Ennai Arinthal. But, this was different, as the character was a meaty one and I had to act opposite a great actor like Mammootty," he laughs. The actor says it was a great experience, but not without hitches. "I would just 'act', but Shamdat would say don't act, just behave. By the second day, I got into the groove," he says.

However, Silva is tight-lipped about the character. "It is a suspense. I can't let any details out," he says. But he is very excited about it. "Streetlights is a realistic movie. There is no element of fantasy. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. I saw my portions while dubbing for it and am very nervous about whether I will be accepted," the actor adds.

Silva has also choreographed the action sequences. This may be his acting debut, but he is no alien to M-Town. "I have done quite a few projects and worked with big names. So, it is a familiar terrain," he says. He also tells us about how he enjoyed helping Mohanlal with some great moves in Mr Fraud. "Mohanlal sir is very professional. So are Prithviraj and Tovino Thomas. In fact, these days actors are so aware of the demands of action. They are well prepared," he says.

Silva has just wound up his work for Rajnikanth's 2.0 and can barely contain his excitement about the project, which he terms as the biggest of his career. "The best thing is that I got to meet and work with some great action choreographers from Hollywood. The movie itself was on another level. The action, locations, sets, the cameras, everything was a new excitement. In fact, it was a learning curve for me," he says.
