Donald Glover is set to feature and produce a film based on Spider-Man villain, the Hypno-Hustler, and thus joining the Marvel cinematic universe of Sony Pictures.

While the project is still in its nascent stages, Myles Murphy has been roped in to write the screenplay. However, there is no information on who will pen the script and direct the film.

First appeared in Marvel comics in 1978, Hypno-Hustler is one of the antagonists of Spider-Man, who has the ability to hypnotise his opponents and victims with his guitar. Hypno-Hustler goes by the name Antoine Desloin during the day, where he is the lead singer of the band Mercy Killers. The character is the latest to get a standalone feature from Sony’s Spider-Man universe after Venom (2018) and Morbius (2022). Kraven the Hunter and Madame Web are also in works.

It is to be noted that Donald had earlier appeared in the 2017 Spider-Man: Homecoming as Aaron Davis, the uncle of Miles Morales - the Black teenager who went on to become Spider-Man.
