Director Varsha Bharath's debut directorial Bad Girl is all set to hit the silver screen on September 5. But beyond the film being Varsha's introduction to Tamil cinema, the film also introduces composer Amit Trivedi (pictured) to the industry. Amit's soundtracks vary from indie-rock to heartfelt melodies to even band-style songs. But with Bad Girl, the composer has collaborated with a host of artists to create the film's album. Let us take a look at the tracks that make the album, and the artists who made the tracks.

'Please Yenna Appadi Paakadhey'

Track number one in the album is a pop song that eases you into the world of Bad Girl. Maalavika Manoj (pictured) has lent her vocals to the song, which essays the changing life of a young girl. Malaavika has a long career in the independent music scene, along with collaborating with various composers for films. Kaber Vasuki has written the lyrics for the song in his trademark spoken word style, that fits with the music like two pieces of a jigsaw.

'Home'

As the title goes, the track delves into a very personal space in its lyrics. A young girl describes the home that she wants to live in, to her significant other. She describes the comforting familiarity it can offer, and the endless and carefree future it represents. Actor-singer Anjali Sivaraman (pictured), who leads the cast of Bad Girl, has sung the melody, which is written by director Varsha.

'Naan Thani Pizhai'

After a pop number and a melody, Amit Trivedi delves into the world of jazz for this track. As the love of a young couple matures, so does their desire to be free from the shackles of society. The song also boasts a notable interlude, which showcases the brass instruments' range. Dimple Saikia (pictured) has sung the song alongside Amit himself, which has been penned by Madrashe.

'Kalli Kaattil'

After some carefree days in love, comes heartbreak. In this rock number, Shivani Panneerselvam (pictured) has vocalised the pain of a woman who has persevered beyond hurdles and questions God and his actions towards her fate. The woman wonders if God is very limited in his offers and ruthless in his actions. Madrashe writes the words that conveys the anger that is unleashed.

'Unnil Kaadhal Kaana'

In this track that is filled with self reflection, a woman traverses through her actions to finally realise what she has missed, and the world she is currently in. After the a time of change, a journey through love and heartbreak, a changed person arise. Sublahshini (pictured) has written the lyrics for the song, which she has sung alongside Sharanya Gopinath, and Shivani Paneerselvam.

'Aariraro'

A mother laments a lost life to her child, and wishes that her child to fly free, because even when the mother had wings she was caged. With Vaikom Vijayalakshmi's (pictured) vocals essaying the mother's emotions to the listener, the song is a mix of thalaatu (lullaby) and melody. Vivek has written the lyrics for 'Aariraro'.

'Home - Reprise'

After a tulmultous, but endearing journey, this reprise represents the road ahead and the unlimited possibilities it holds. The sky is endless and there is space for everyone on this Earth, as the woman finds a space of her own in the final track of the album. Ranjani Ramadoss (pictured) has sung the song, which has been written by Varsha.
