Andhagan - August 9 (Tamil)

Directed by actor Prashanth's father and veteran actor-director Thiagarajan. Andhagan is the official Tamil remake of Sriram Raghavan's 2018 film Andhadhun. The murder mystery, which was in the making for a long time is scheduled to hit theatres on Friday. It also stars Simran, Priya Anand, Karthik, Samuthirakani, Yogi Babu, Oorvasi, KS Ravikumar, and Vanitha Vijaykumar, among others.

Minmini - August 9 (Tamil)

Minmini, which is set to be filmmaker Halitha Shameem's dream project, stars actors Esther Anil, Praveen Kishore, and Gaurav Kalai in lead roles. It was shot over seven years to show the real growth of the actors and is expected to be a coming-of-age film that follows two youngsters who carry survivors’ guilt.

Park - August 9 (Tamil)

Starring Taman Kumar, Swetha Dorathy, Black Pandi and Yogi Ram in lead roles, Park is a horror thriller directed by EK Murugan. The plot follows a couple working at a DTH shop who fall in love, get engaged, but are kidnapped by gangsters. They unknowingly enter the park, become possessed by spirits, and must escape.

Veerayi Makkal - August 9 (Tamil)

Veerayi Makkal stars Vela Ramamoorthy, Marimuthu, Deepa Shankar, Suresh nandha, Nandhana, Rama, Senthil kumari and Jerald Milton in lead roles. The story revolves around the feud between the siblings born to the mother, Veerayi. How they resolve their tensions and reaffirm the strength of familial bonds forms the basic plot of the story.

It Ends with Us - August 9 (English)

Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni's It Ends With Us film, adapted from Colleen Hoover's novel, revolves around Lily as she overcomes a traumatic childhood to embark on a new life. A chance meeting with a neurosurgeon sparks a connection but Lily begins to see sides of him that remind her of her parents' relationship.

Borderlands - August 9 (English)

Based on the best-selling videogame, the action-adventure follows a ragtag team of misfits on a mission to save a missing girl who holds the key to unimaginable power. The film stars an ensemble cast featuring Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Edgar Ramírez, Ariana Greenblatt, Florian Munteanu, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis.

Bheema - August 9 (Kannada)

'Duniya' Vijay’s upcoming film Bheema, which marks his sophomore directorial, is written by Vijay while Maasthi Upparahalli has penned the film’s dialogues. The action thriller, which is set to explore the dark and unpleasant side of Bengaluru, also stars Ashwini and Kalyanee Raju in prominent roles.

Kabandha - August 9 (Kannada)

Kabandha is a horror thriller written and directed by Sathyanath. The film which stars Prasad Vashist, Kishore Kumar, Priyanka Malali, Prashanth Siddi, G Yograj Bhat and Avinash in lead roles, follows a young boy who experiences disturbing visions after he witnesses a death in front of him.

Adios Amigo - August 9 (Malayalam)

Billed as a comedy entertainer, Adios Amigo stars Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu in lead roles. Directed by debutant Nahas Nazar and scripted by Kettyolaanu Ente Malakha-fame Thankam, the film is about two men from contrasting social strata who cross paths.

Super Zindagi - August 9 (Malayalam)

Directed by debutant Vintesh, Super Zindagi stars Dhyan Sreenivasan in the lead role along with Mukesh, Parvati Nair, Suresh Krishna, Master Mahendran, and Rithu Manthra in supporting roles. Jointly scripted by Prajith Raj EKR and Vintesh, the film is expected to be a comedy thriller, predominantly set in Bengaluru.
