Aamir Khan opts for real piercings for his role in Thugs of Hindostan

Aamir Khan is always referred to as a perfectionist, especially when it comes to his films. Even in his Diwali release, Thugs of Hindostan, the tag seems to sit perfectly on the actor.

Aamir, who plays Firangi, a flamboyant and smooth-talking thug in the Vijay Krishna Acharya directorial releasing on November 8, has actually done piercing for his role, instead of opting for prosthetics. In addition. Aamir Khan is also said to have been extremely involved in the styling of the character with costume designers Rushi and Manoshi. Aamir sports earrings and a big nose ring in the film, which he personally hand-picked to authenticate the character in the film, which is based on a fictional story that is set during British East Indian Company’s rule over India.

Revealing more about getting into the skin of Firangi, Aamir reveals, “When I started working on the character, I felt that he (Firangi) should have a nose pin. It was something that was very instinctive for me. When I’m playing a character, I want to try and feel as much as possible that I am the character.”

While the director heaps praises on Aamir for actually going through with the piercings, the costume designers reveal that the Dangal actor picked a very heavy nose pin. which would have surely hurt him more, but fit the role.

Thugs of Hindostan, bankrolled by Yash Raj Films, also brings together Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan on screen for the first time.

Thugs of Hindostan is set to release on November 8, in Hindi, Telugu and Tamil.
