Why would Pogaru stop, asks Dhruva Sarja

The actor speaks out about the speculations that his film has been stalled
Why would Pogaru stop, asks Dhruva Sarja

Dhruva Sarja’s Pogaru, directed by Nanda Kishore and produced by BK Gangadhar, has been in the news for the right and wrong reasons. Firstly, the actor completed a schedule sometime in April for which he had lost 30 kgs in order to play a school boy. The next portions were scheduled to begin when Dhruva got back to his normal physique.

Now, the long gap between the two schedules has led to speculations that the production has been stopped. Rubbishing the rumours, Dhruva questions, “Why would Pogaru stop? And why will it be stalled? Are people who are spreading such rumours even aware of the consequences to the team, the director and the producer, who are putting in so much effort for this project? Why would I have taken the pain of losing 30 kgs if the film had been shelved?” He adds that his silence has given room for this talk, but believes that his work will do the talking.

“I’m in the process of gaining back the weight I had lost. It was not one or two kgs, but a solid 30 kgs, so it took time to get back to my normal physique. The team has also taken this opportunity to improve the script. Everyone is putting in a lot of efforts. Just because we aren’t openly discussing every detail of what’s going on doesn’t mean the project has been dropped. The team and I want to reveal more details after we have clarity and confirmation as to when we start with the next schedule,” he asserts.

Dhruva says that he has been hearing ‘Dhruva’s film stalled or stopped’ right from his very first film. “I heard this during Addhuri, then Bahaddhur and also with Bharjari. Fortunately, despite these rumours, all the films are out and have done well too. So the rumour about Pogaru being stopped is a sign, perhaps, that this film will also be a hit at the box office,” he says.

Dhruva, Kishore team up for another project; produced by Uday Mehta, film to go on floors simultaneously

Dhruva Sarja, who is building his body and waiting for the team to work on Pogaru’s script, has decided to start with Uday Mehta’s project simultaneously. This film will also be directed by Nanda Kishore.

Confirming the news, Dhruva tells us, “After much thought, I have decided to juggle between the two projects. Since Nanda is directing both films, we constantly discuss how to work on both in parallel. Though I can’t get into the details of my project with Uday Mehta right now, I might start shooting the first schedule sometime in July, and then get back to Pogaru when we have everything in place. Right now, this is our agenda. More will be revealed soon.”
