Taapsee Pannu: Taking the unconventional route

The actor talks about the multiple upcoming projects - Soorma, Mulq, Badla and Manmarziyaan

Last seen in 2017's Dil Juunglee, Taapsee Pannu, has multiple projects like Soorma, Mulq, Badla and Manmarziyaan in her kitty. The actor is also making her short film debut through Kapil Verma's Nitishastra, alongside Vicky Arora.

During a recent promotional event for the short film, she has revealed that she will be playing a powerful role along with veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming murder mystery, tentatively titled Badla. The duo has already worked together in the 2016 courtroom social drama, Pink, directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury. Their performance was widely appreciated and the film became a huge hit.

Talking about the new film directed by Sujoy Ghosh and produced by Sunir Kheterpal, in which she will be seen in the role of a businesswoman, Tapsee says, "My character in the film is slightly more glamorized than my earlier ones, but it is not on the lines of my glamorous role in Judwaa 2. It's a Sujoy Ghosh film, so my role won't be restricted to glamour alone; it will be much more than that. It is going to be very powerful one. We will start shooting for the film from June 14."

She also spoke about her other upcoming projects. "The trailer of Soorma will be launched on June 11 and the film will be released on July 13. By the end of June, the trailer of Mulk will be released, followed by the film on July 27. Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan will hit the screens on September 7. It is going to be a very critical and exciting year for me because I have tried to work in a series of non-conventional films."

Apart from these Bollywood films, she will be seen in the Telugu film Neevevaroo, which is expected to be a remake of the 2017 Tamil action thriller Adhey Kangal. The film also stars Aadhi Pinisetty and Ritika Singh in the lead.
