There are a few filmmakers who go that extra mile for their projects. Joining this list now is producer Kanakapura Srinivas, who is all set to do the impossible -- bring together stalwarts Ravichandran and Upendra in a film to be directed by none other than Om Prakash Rao. This is the latest buzz doing rounds in Gandhinagar. According to our source, the project is going to be a full-fledged commercial entertainer, and preparation is in full swing. “The film’s launch is fixed for August 24, and the makers plan to go on floors immediately, with a shoot schedule chalked out for 75 days,” says our source.

These personalities are well-known actors and directors in the Kannada industry, and bringing them together on the big screen is a rare feat. Upendra, who is back to films full-time, is currently shooting for R Chandru’s I Love You. The actor is also associating with producer Srinivas for Adhira, which will be directed by newcomer, Adhira Santhu. The script for this film is being written now, and the makers will go on floors only after Uppi completes his film with Om Prakash Rao. Meanwhile, Ravichandran is busy with various acting projects, and is also directing his upcoming film, Rajendra Ponnappa.

While Ravichandran has worked with the director in Sahukara, Upendra and Om Prakash will be associating for the first time.

With these multi-talented personalities - The Crazy Star and Real Star - coming together for a film, and with Rao wielding the megaphone, this is going to one of the most anticipated films in recent times.

Makers hope to title film Hoysala

As for the title, the producer wants to call the film Hoysala, copyrights of which are with Ramu Enterprises. “They are in discussions with producer Ramu to use the title. In case this fails, they will have look for another option,” our source tells us.

Nimika Ratnakar comes on board

The film will feature three heroines, and as of now, they have finalised one. Kannada actor Nimika Ratnakar is the first heroine to come on board, and the search for the other two is on. Mangaluru-based Nimika is a model-turned-actor. She made her debut in Raama Dhanya with Yashas Surya, which was released earlier this year. She is also making a guest appearance in Dharma Kirthiraj’s Bindaas Googly. This project will be her big break, as she will get to work with two big stars.
