Director Keera, known for films like Merlin and Pachai Engira Kaathu, is currently shooting for his next film, titled Para. The film, which follows a variety of characters over a period of twelve hours (from the midnight to noon of December 6) in a politically sensitive environment, boasts of a large ensemble cast that features Samuthirakani, Chandini Tamilarasan, Munishkanth, Shaju Mon, and Venba.

Speaking about the project, Keera says, "The film is about the travails of a heterogeneous bunch of people - an eloped pair, a platform dweller, an elderly couple, a bar dancer, a politician, a policeman, and a lawyer - who are united by chance." The director goes on to assure that each of the character's conflict will be unique. “I have taken inspiration from the people we come across in our day-to-day lives. The film will talk about quite a few relevant political issues."

The director pin-points Samuthirakani’s role to be the backbone of the film. “The actor plays a conscientious lawyer who loses his only child in his endeavour to represent the downtrodden. I am confident that the movie will incite the right kind of dialogue in the audience.” Para, which has been extensively shot in Nagerkoil, and parts of North Chennai, is currently in its final leg of shoot. The makers are apparently looking at a late-August release date.
