It has been confirmed that Gautham Vasudev Menon and Madhavan will be teaming up for a sequel to Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa. The filmmaker and actor are coming together for a film after 2001's Minnale.

Madhavan himself confirmed the news on Twitter when he was asked about it.

In an interview, Gautham had revealed that the story will be about Karthik (character played by Simbu) and his three friends -- from Trivandrum, Bengaluru and Hyderabad, respectively. Apparently, the first 10 minutes of the film, will be in Kannada.

The story, an emotional fun-filled journey, will take place after eight years where VTV ended. Madhavan will reprise the role played by Simbu, and as of now, Puneet Rajkumar and Tovino Thomas are confirmed to be part of the cast, with AR Rahman on music.
