Sudheer Shanbogue couldn’t have asked for a more committed heroine than Latha Hegde for his debut directorial Ananthu v/s Nusrath. CE had reported earlier that the actress was being considered for the role and now it has been confirmed with her latest photoshoot done for the film. In the photos, captured at the famous Hazrat Tawakkal Mastan Dargah in the bylanes of Cottonpet, she looks every inch Nusrath.

The actress, who has been paired opposite Vinay Rajkumar in this romcom, says that she cannot reveal too many details about the character. “I agreed to do the film because it offered me a unique role,” she says.

We hear that the director and Latha wanted to present the character as authentically as possible and sought the advice of a person at the dargah. “Though this film has nothing to do with the religion, we wanted to stick close to the culture,” says Sudheer.

Latha says that she learnt the posture and wordings of prayer at the dargah. “I also learnt how to tie a hijab,” says the actress. Hijab is a veil usually worn by women to cover the head and the chest. “People were very helpful and encouraging,” she says.

The film, made under Maanikya Productions, will go on floors from mid October. It will have Abhishek Kasargod’s  cinematography and Sunadh Goutam’s music.
