Despite reports that Mersal might not get released as planned owing to the double taxation issue, the makers are confident of getting the film out on Diwali. On Tuesday, Hema Rukmani, director of Thenandal Studios Limited, announced via her twitter account that the film will be released in 3,292 screens worldwide. Sources say that this includes in 350 screens in Kerala, which surpasses the previous record of Baahubali 2.
