Ambareesh and Sumalatha's son is getting ready to make his acting debut, and his mother says he will have to make it on his own
Abishek to chart his own course

Growing up around stars Ambareesh and Sumalatha, their son Abishek was always expected to enter the industry. And now all speculations have been put to rest with the son having said ‘yes’ to his first movie.

He is not sparing any effort, and is said to be working on his acting skills and training himself in martial arts. Abishek is said to have lost 30 kgs, hoping to get fit before he actually faces the camera.

Another interesting fact is that, unlike the usual process, where star parents launch their kids, this time it's the filmmakers who are going all out to bring Abishek to the silver screen. His mother Sumalatha tells CE that they have never believed in handing him things on a golden platter. Producers such as Syed Salaam and Sandesh Nagaraj, among few others, are the ones who are encouraging Abishek with his debut, and they are in talks with different directors and even readying a few scripts.

A producer, who does not wish to be named, says that he hopes the star kid will be launched sometime in February or April next year. He says, “Abhishek takes his career in films seriously, and is leaving no stone unturned. I am looking forward to a memorable debut.”

Meanwhile, actress and mother Sumalatha says, “We have told him that unless he plans to stay focused, dedicated and passionate, he should not choose this profession. In fact, we had kept him away from the industry till he completed his studies and he was away in London pursuing his Masters.”

She says he has only recently shown an interest in this profession. “My son said that he wanted to give movies a shot and we told him that he has to make it on his own,” she says. “Ambareesh is not like other fathers, and we are not launching him. If anyone else wants to, they have to be convinced of his talent and his success or failure will depend on him alone.”
