Tikli And Laxmi Bomb is a fun film: Director

Writer Aditya Kripalani, who has directed and co-produced the film based on his own book Tikli And Laxmi Bomb, says it is a fun film highlighting the revolution of the sex trade.

The film's poster, released this week, was rather intriguing with a condom on a gun barrel. Explaining it, Kripalani says, "The gun and the condom just signify the revolution in the sex trade, that's all. The girls create a loyalty programme using condoms so that they are able to get a larger customer base. So, the gun is the revolution and the condoms are the sex trade. So it pretty much means a revolution in the sex trade."

The film features Vibhawari Deshpande, Chitrangada Chakraborty, Suchitra Pillai, Upendra Limaye and Saharsh Kumar Shukla. It is based on gender inequality amongst prostitutes and how two of them try and fight the system.

Shot at real locations in Mumbai, the film has been showcased at different film festivals. Kripalani wants it to reach the maximum audience. "My hope from the audience is that they come because it is a fun, interesting and engaging film with good music. And to meet these women who are good company. I hope that the audience comes to be in their company," he says.
