Humble Politician Nograj plans a trip to Bollywood

Saad Khan’s debut directorial Humble Politician Nograj, starring Danish Sait, is political satire with a universal appeal and a lead actor who is famous as a radio host and comedian. The makers have, therefore, seized this opportunity to make their foray into Bollywood.

The team is planning to network with the top production houses and release the dubbed version in Hindi, along with the Kannada original. Meanwhile, the team is also working to bring out the film in all the other south Indian languages -- Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam. Discussions are on with different production houses, who will be watching Humble Politician Nograj before taking a decision.

The makers are waiting for the censor certificate to officially announce the release date. Producer Pushkar says, “We hope to get that by December 1 and, as of today, we hope to release the film in Karnataka on December 29. But, if we have the opportunity to simultaneously release it in Bollywood, then we will plan for a January 2018 release. With the script we have, we hope to make Humble Politician Nograj a household name across India.”

Meanwhile, Nograj will go globetrotting with the film set to have a worldwide premiere. It will be released in eight exclusive shows across the globe, beginning with a screening in five theatres across the USA on December 15. This will be followed up by shows in Dubai, London and Germany, before its release in India.

Pushkar explains to us, “Exclusive premier shows abroad fetch a good collection with tickets priced at double the regular rates. We hope to set a record with overseas collection and our target is to earn at least Rs 2 crore. As of today, our Kirik Party holds that record, followed by Rangitaranga and Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu. Now I want Humble Politician Nograj  to break Kirik Party’s record.”

The film, made as a joint venture of Pushkar Films, Rakshit Shetty Paramvah Studios and Hemanth M Rao’s Lost and Found Films, features Sumukhi Suresh, Sruthi Hariharan, Roger Narayan and Vijay Chendoor, with Puneeth Rajkumar making a guest appearance. The film has music by Jeet Singh and team, and cinematography by Karm Chawla.
