Dandupalya crime trilogy to conclude soon

Srinivas Raju, who released part 2 of Dandupalya series in July this year, had planned to release the third and final part in August. But the director later decided to wait a little longer and now plans to release it by the end of November.

He says, “The concluding part was supposed to be out earlier, but I decided that we need to have a longer pause before the finale.”

The crime trilogy starring Pooja Gandhi, Ravi Shankar, Makrand Deshpande and Sanjjanaa in the ensemble cast had been cleared with an A certificate from the Censors. The director says that he was happy with the reaction of the board members, adding that they were appreciative of the film.

The director, has planned a unique kind of promotions for III, with black and white posters, and claims that he is one of the first directors in India to do a crime trilogy. He says, “A series is usually inspired by Hollywood films or is done starring celebrities. But, mine is a biopic based on a real-life incident.”

The director also admits that 2, which is part two of the series, had fielded controversies and financially did not do as well as the first part. But he is confident about III, which of course will have more bloodshed and melodrama.

With judgment of Dandupalya still to be given, how did Srinivas conclude the story onscreen? “I have ended the way I thought was best. I believe that it will be more or less what will be given for the gangster. This could be a forecast of what is coming,” he says.

With Ram producing III of Dandupalya series, the film has music by Arjun Janya and cinematography by Venkatesh Prasad.
