Deepika Padukone, who plays the titular role in the upcoming period drama Padmavati, says she is extremely nervous about the project.

Deepika was the only actor from the cast present at the 3D trailer launch of the film hosted by Viacom18 Motion Pictures and Bhansali Productions on Tuesday. She spoke about her sentiments on the Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial.

"It's been a while since I have been so nervous. I think it is the function of the fact that of all the films that I've done, I feel there is something different about this one. And the feeling is not from the heart or the head, it is from the gut," Deepika said.

The film, which sets out to tell the tale of the valour and heroism of Rajputs, also features Shahid Kapoor as her husband and Ranveer Singh as Alauddin Khilji.

Deepika hailed the film as a milestone in cinema. "We are very proud to present the 3D version of the trailer. It is a huge milestone for us as a team, for Indian cinema and for world cinema," she said.

The film's theatrical trailer has got over 50 million hits on YouTube.

"It has been an extremely emotional journey for all of us. Especially after we launched the trailer, I think the response and the reactions have been absolutely overwhelming," the actress added.

Padmavati, which will be released on December 1, also stars Aditi Rao Hydari, Raza Murad and Jim Sarbh in supporting roles.
