Akshay Kumar happy to avoid clash with SRK

Akshay Kumar is currently busy promoting his upcoming release Toilet-Ek Prem Katha. When the actor was asked if he is elated that his film which was supposed to have a box-office clash with Shah Rukh Khan’s Jab Harry Met Sejal, will get solo release, he says, “It is happiness for everybody that films don’t clash. But ultimately what happens is there are only 52 weeks and 180 films. So some films are bound to clash with each other. That is an unfortunate thing, but we can’t help it. Then there is Hollywood and South Indian films which also get grand release here, so more and more films will release together.”

When asked if two films being made on the same subject, like Battle of Saragrahi and Padman, affect the box office, he says, “My film is my film and my story is my story. Everybody has right to make film on whatever subject they want. It does affect to some extent but I keep doing my work.”

Toilet -Ek Prem Katha also stars Bhumi Pednekar and is directed by Shree Narayan Singh.
