Varun Dhawan apologises for nepotism joke

A comment made by Varun Dhawan against Kangana Ranaut at an award function, lead to him coming under fire on social media. The actor later went on Twitter to publicly express his regret about the incident.

Aside from Varun, Karan Johar and Saif Ali Khan also faced backlash on social media and elsewhere for taking a dig at the actress on the same event  The two stars and the director went on stage and spoke sarcastically about how they are here because of their parents. They apparently did this to get back at Kangana for her remarks about nepotism in the industry. She had made these comments on Karan's show some four months back. 

The trio's behaviour was largely not appreciated, and Varun chose to apologise for his part through his official Twitter handle on Tuesday afternoon.
