No legal action against VFX company for 2.0 delay

Contrary to reports surfacing across various sections of the media, the makers of 2.0 have issued a clarification stating that no legal action is going to be taken against the VFX company working on their film.

There have been reports that the film's release was delayed from January 25 to April 14, 2018 after the VFX company working on the film failed to meet the production house's deadline. Apparently, the Oscar award-winning American VFX studio team had received 90 per cent of the payment in advance and failed to complete the task on the stipulated date. This led to reports that the company might face legal action from the makers of the film.

Lyca Productions have now stated that no legal action as the reports state was being planned and that they were just rumors. They further added that a delay in VFX alone is not the reason for 2.0's delay. They reiterated that since the film is Asia's biggest film till date, they intend to make it a world-class product for audiences with the entire production team working round the clock to make it happen.

John Hughes and Walt, head the VFX work in 2.0 and their vast experience and credentials include having worked on films such as Life of Pi, 300 and Percy Jackson.

Directed by Shankar, 2.0 stars Rajinikanth, Akshay Kumar and Amy Jackson with a musical score by AR Rahman.
