Sandalwood joins the song teaser trend with Tarak 

After film teasers, song teasers are the new trend in the film industry. Joining this bandwagon in Sandalwood is music director Arjun Janya who launched audio teasers for the film Tarak, directed by Prakash Jayaram. The music director released three song teasers in a row before the official audio release tomorrow. The film stars Darshan, Sruthi Hariharan and Shanvi Srivastava. The teasers are already a hit online.

According to Arjun Janya, in the age of digitisation, song teasers, which are only a few seconds long, create a tempting hook among listeners, who then curiously wait to listen to the full song. “Like film promos, song teasers too give the audience a glimpse into the music album. This is one of the first attempts from my end,” he says. The first song teaser of Tarak had around 3 lakh views in 48 hours and the second track got around 1.5 lakh views in 24 hours, he adds. 

Singer Indu Nagaraj, who has lent her voice to many popular songs, says the song teaser trend is catching on. “As the teaser’s duration is short, people are curious to know how the full length track will shape up. It's become quite popular among fans.” Having a gap between releasing consecutive songs is a good idea, she feels.

Lahari Music, who are ranked among the best in the audio business have bought the rights of Tarak. Velu of Lahari, tells us it is a new experience and the trend has clicked. “The teaser idea was executed with the help of producer, director and music director of the film, who have found out new ways to promote the music album.”
