After getting a glimpse into the lives of Aghori sadhus with Bala’s Naan Kadavul, Tamil audiences, after almost a decade, will again get to see them in an upcoming film. Titled Aghori, the film is directed by DS Rajkumar and produced by RP Bala, under the banner, RP Films. With the film’s first motion poster getting released recently, director Rajkumar is quite excited.

“While I can’t reveal much about the film’s story, what I can say is that it’s about a face-off between an Aghori and a ghost. It’s a horror film with thriller elements,” says Rajkumar, whose team recently returned from Kerala after a gruelling first schedule. “The second schedule is planned to commence in a week’s time and after shooting a couple of scenes in Chennai, we’ll head back to Kerala for the remainder of the shoot.”

Rajkumar says that the film naturally involves a lot of VFX work. “There’ll be almost one hour of CG work in the film. Even while we are shooting, we are doing editing and CGI work alongside.” The team is also keeping the identity of the heroine under wraps. “It’s a surprise we can’t reveal yet. After the second schedule, the heroine will be announced, along with the second motion poster.”

Producer RP Bala, who has previously written dialogues for the dubbed version of Mohanlal’s Pulimurugan, is doubling up as writer for Aghori that stars Riaz Khan, Mime Gopi, Sidhu, Vetri, Madhan Gopal and Sarath.
