Director lets costumes do the talking for Megha Alias Maggi

It is not only men who can obsess over their failure in love, even women do, and some may go to extremes while doing so. That’s what Vishal Puttanna has tried to portray in his upcoming film Megha Alias Maggi. Featuring Sukrutha Wagle, in a never-seen-before character, the stills that the makers have been releasing in instalments, have been making a noise.

Vishal believes, it is a good outcome when posters become the talk of the town, and people get curious about the film. This is the second outing from the director who made his debut with horror film Agamya. It was a crowd funded film made by the BSc graduate.

He says, "The shooting of this film took place in between my regular nine-to-five job. I have now taken a break to concentrate on the release of Megha Alias Maggi."

Having seen his passion towards filmmaking, his ex-colleague Vinay Kumar decided to produce the film. "We often read or watch stories about how a boy behaves when he goes the extra mile to succeed in love. But I seldom hear or read from the girl’s point of view. A woman's feelings and how she perceives love and its failures is something I thought, was a new theme to explore," says Vishal, whose film features Sukratha as both the hero and villain.

"Though the character she plays is extreme, by the end of the film, she is sure to win the hearts of people," says Vishal, who has given a lot of importance to the costume design. "I wanted to bring out the tomboy in her. She also plays a psychic in parts and I wanted to blend this aspect, into the clothes she wears," he says.

Megha Alias Maggi also features Teju Gowda and newcomer Neethu Bala. The film has music by Athishi Jain, and cinematography by Jinish and Jaiprakash.
