My previous films do not impress my children at all: David Oyelowo

Actor David Oyelowo says his children have not been impressed with any of his films like they are with The Cloverfield Paradox.

David is married to actress Jessica Oyelowo and has three sons and a daughter. He essays the role of an astronaut in Netflix's science fiction horror film.

"I've done a lot of films that are, you know, historical characters and are in important movies. Those do not impress my children at all," says David. "This on the other hand got reactions like, 'Woah dad, that's amazing, that's awesome'. So yes, that alone is the reason to do this. When they came to visit me on set, they had the best time. Seeing me in that space suit hanging upside down, the whole thing," he adds.

Talking about the film, the Selma star says: "The incremental 'shock-ed-ness' that you know we have in this film is really quite something so my kids like that as well."

The Cloverfield Paradox, tells the story of a group of international astronauts on a space station, who are working to solve a massive energy crisis on Earth. The experimental technology aboard the station has an unexpected result, leaving the team isolated and fighting for their survival.

Directed by Julius Onah, from a story by Oren Uziel and Doug Jung, the film is produced by JJ Abrams and Lindsey Weber. It also stars Daniel Bruhl, Roger Davies, Elizabeth Debicki, Aksel Hennie, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Chris O'Dowd, John Ortiz and Zhang Ziyi.
