Everyone will relate to Vaisakham: Jaya

Director B Jaya’s Vaisakham is all set to hit the screens on July 21. Set in the backdrop of apartment culture, the film dwells on family emotions and love.

“Joint families are a rarity these days. Everyone prefers to live in an apartment. Vaisakham is all about a young couple who live in such an environment and fall in love with each other. Everyone will relate to Vaisakham,” says Jaya.

Incidentally, Vaisakham is the first film shot in Kazakhstan, and Jaya calls it the most-challenging part of this one-year journey. “Shooting in Kazakhstan was arduous. It takes three months for the visa process alone. We were a unit of 23, shot there for 15 days, with 400 kilos of baggage. One has to get their passport stamped every three days failing which you will be jailed. Overall, it’s a tough journey and we worked relentlessly to get the best output,” recalls Jaya.

The romantic entertainer features actors Harish and Avantika as the lead pair, and Jaya was all praise for the youngsters. “Harish is well-behaved, and he is a producer’s hero. I didn’t get the feeling of working with a debutant. Avantika is talented and will have a bright future in Telugu cinema.”

Asked if she is nervous before the release, Jaya shares, “Since, it’s my home production, I have taken ample time to complete the film. Each frame is carefully drafted, and the freshness will surely be visible on screen. As a director, I don’t want to compromise on anything, and so edited the film myself. I’m excited and eagerly waiting to watch Vaisakham with the audience.”

Produced by BA Raju, the film also features Sai Kumar in a crucial role and has music by DJ Vasanth.
