A not-so-scary Katteri

Director Deekay’s third project kicked into motion on Wednesday in Chennai, and as we had previously reported, the film has been titled Katteri. We now learn that it will star Vaibhav in the lead. Talking to CE about the film, the actor who was last seen in Meyadha Maan says, “Katteri is a horror comedy. The cast is packed with comedians. This film will be devoid of too many horror elements.”

Vaibhav asserts that the film instead will be high on adventure. “The makers are keen that it be a family entertainer. They want to target the children, and the film is scheduled for release during the summer holidays.”

Incidentally, Katteri is the second time that both Deekay and Vaibhav will try their hands at this genre, having done Yaamirukka Bayamey and Hello Naan Pei Pesuren, respectively.

“The shooting will commence immediately after Pongal,” confirms Vaibhav, who has RK Nagar lined up as his next release.

Post-Katteri, the actor will work with Axess Film Factory on an untitled project. Katteri also stars Karunakaran, Rajendran, Ponnambalam, and YouTube sensation Sha Ra (who was also a part of Meesaya Murukku), and Prasad, who did the music for Yaamirukka Bayamey, has been brought on board as the composer.

Sources state that Hansika has been roped in as the heroine and that an official confirmation can be expected soon.
