Prayaga Martin to make Kannada debut opposite Ganesh in Geetha

Actor Ganesh, in his earlier interviews with CE, had said that his next project Geetha, directed by debutant Vijay Nagendra, will be one-of-a-kind subject. It now seems like the film, in its pre-production stage, is shaping up well and is generating interest with its star cast.

Along with Parvathy Arun, the other heroine to share screen space with the Golden star, will be Prayaga Rose Martin. Having started off as a child artiste in Mollywood, she established herself as a promising actor with some good projects in Malayalam. Prayaga was last seen in Ramaleela, in which she played the female lead opposite Dileep. She also made her mark in the Tamil industry with Pisaasu, and Geetha will be her first venture in Kannada. No details about her or the other actors’ roles in the film are out yet. The director will reveal these details when he makes an official announcement.

The film is being produced by Syed Salaam in association with Ganesh’s production house — Golden Movies. It revives the classic title Geetha of Shankar Nag’s film released in 1981. The fresh story by Vijay Nagendra is also said to feature traits of the legendary actor in Ganesh’s character.

Vijay Nagendra brings in his experience of working with director Santhosh Ananddramm, who directed films like Mr and Mrs Ramachari and Raajakumara. Santhosh is even said to have lent his opinions for the film’s script, and this has only created more hype. The makers are planning to kick-start the shoot on December 3 after Ganesh is done with his commitments for his upcoming films, Orange and Gimmick.

Meanwhile, the team is busy finalising the rest of the cast and the third heroine before going on floors. Geetha has music by V Harikrishna and cinematography by Shreesha Kuduvalli.
