Director Rosshan Andrrews is riding high on the success of Kayamkulam Kochunni. The big-budget epic, produced by Gokulam Films, has become one of Nivin Pauly's biggest hits alongside Premam. The film is still running to packed houses, as per reports.

One of the standout characters from the film, Ithikkara Pakki, played by Mohanlal, has managed to win over many viewers. Given the overwhelmingly positive response to the character, the makers have decided to consider a spin-off film. The news was confirmed by Rosshan himself. "Yes, we are planning an Ithikkara Pakki spin-off, but we are not going to make it anytime soon. Maybe sometime in the near future."

Meanwhile, Rosshan has started prepping for another big-budget film with Nivin Pauly, titled The Pirates of Diego Garcia. Considering the fact that the film has an international subject, some names from outside India are expected to featured in it. "It will have twice the scale of Kayamkulam Kochunni. The details of the production company have not been finalised. Discussions are still going on," the filmmaker says.

Rosshan is also working on a Hindi project, apparently a remake of one of his own Malayalam films.

Meanwhile, Nivin is currently filming The Great Father director Haneef Adeni's second film Mikhael, which also stars Unni Mukundan in a key role. The teaser was unveiled recently along with Kayamkulam Kochunni. The actor is also slated to appear in Dhyan Sreenivasan's directorial debut Love Action Drama with Nayanthara and Aju Varghese.

Mohanlal, on the other hand, has two upcoming releases, Drama on November 1, and Odiyan on December 14. He also has Prithviraj's directorial debut Lucifer and director Siddique's Big Brother coming up soon.
