Akshay Kumar to star in space film, Mission Mangal

Akshay Kumar has signed a three-picture deal with Fox Star Studios that will be produced in association with Cape Of Good Films. The first film in the series, titled Mission Mangal, will go on floors in mid-November, and is being produced in collaboration with R Balki and will be directed by Jagan Shakti. 

Akshay Kumar said, “I am delighted to find a new creative partner in Fox Star Studios and am looking forward to creating a collaboration that will deliver a meaningful and entertaining cinematic experience. With our combined energies, we hope to create content that not only excites but also empowers.” 

Earlier this year, Fox Star Studios delivered the highest grossing Hindi film of 2018 with the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju. Their last few releases include Baaghi 2, Judwaa 2 and Jolly LLB 2. Akshay Kumar’s upcoming release is the Rajinikanth-starrer 2.0, in which he plays the antagonist. He will also be seen in the period war film, Kesari, and the franchise comedy, Housefull 4.
