Darshan to Yajamana crew: Prepare for film’s release

Produced by Shylaja Nag and B Suresha, and directed by Pon Kumar, the film also stars Rashmika Mandanna, Tanya Hope, Dhananjay and Thakur Anoop Singh

Darshan, who completed shooting and dubbing for his 50th film, Munirathna Kurukshetra, is wasting no time. He’s already on his next project, Yajamana. The film’s talkie portions will be completed tomorrow after which the actor will only be left with the songs shoot. Apparently, Darshan has told the makers to kickstart the film’s promotions and get ready with a release plan.

After the last day of this schedule concludes in Mysuru, there’s a photoshoot planned with the Yajamana team on August 4, soon after which the team will start promoting the film. Darshan says, “I will be dubbing for the film from the first week of September, and will also be completing the pending songs for the film.”

Produced by Shylaja Nag and B Suresha, Yajamana is directed by Pon Kumar. The film has Rashmika Mandanna and Tanya Hope playing the heroines, and also stars Dhananjay and Thakur Anoop Singh.

Ask Darshan whether the audience can look forward to Yajamana before Muniratna Kurukshetra, and he says, “Maybe. To be honest, right now I don’t have a clear picture about the status of Muniratna Kurukshetra. I can only talk about it when it happens. So, after much thought, I have asked the producers of Yajamana to get ready with the film.”

Darshan feels that there should be no delay in film releases, especially not from his end. “I haven’t had a film release after Tarak (September 2017). I don’t want to end up wasting my time or that of the makers. I have now decided to go ahead and promote my films. Whichever is complete first, will get released,” he says.

Meanwhile, Darshan, who is making a guest appearance in Prajwal Devaraj-starrer Inspector Vikram (directed by Narasimha), will start shooting for that project from August 6 onwards. This will be followed by the launch of MD Sridhar’s upcoming directorial Wodeyar on August 16, being made under Sandesh Films. In between, Darshan will also be visiting Sabarimala in mid-August. “After I come back from my short pilgrimage, we plan to complete the three songs for Yajamana, after which I will head to Wodeyar sets,” he says.
