Biju Menon's next is a gangster comedy

Biju Menon will soon turn into a thug for his next film. Directed by newbie Rafeeq Ibrahim, the yet-to-be-titled film will also have Biju mouthing the Thiruvananthapuram dialect for the first time.

The director says, "This will be a stylish flick, which is high on humour. It is based in Thiruvananthapuram and will narrate the tale of a group of local goons, led by Biju. They set out on a journey to Kasargod and this forms the thread of the story."

According to the director, Biju will also be seen in a salt-and-pepper avatar. "This is a basically a gangster comedy. It has its serious moments too, but our making will ensure that humour dominates the narrative," he adds.

Besides Biju, the film will also have directors Dileesh Pothan and Lijo Jose Pellissery in important roles. "In fact, we have actors from every part of the state, like Kochi and Malabar, who speak their respective dialects. They come into the story, as the journey progresses," says Rafeeq.

While Anusree has been roped in as the female lead, Sreenath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Alancier and Hareesh Perumana will be seen in important roles. The film, which will go on the floors in mid-January is scripted by Arun and Ajay Rahul. There are over 50 new faces, all selected from Thiruvananthapuram. "We conducted audition camps in Thiruvananthapuram to select the artists. We were particular that they are from that place as we didn't want to compromise on anything," he adds.

Produced by Sophia Paul, the film will be shot in various locations at Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kasargod.

Meanwhile, Biju is busy shooting for Orayiram Kinakkal. His next release is Rosapoo, directed by Vinu Joseph.
