Aditi Rao Hydari is excited about her Telugu debut, Sammohanam, which features her in the role of a film star, Sameera Rathod,. She is excited to have found a role where she can dub the lines herself. "Even though I was born in Hyderabad, I was raised in the North. As a kid my maternal grandfather (erstwhile Raja of Wanaparthy family) always wanted me to speak either Telugu or Urdu at home, but I had never shown interest in learning the language. Now that I'm playing a North Indian girl in the film, Mohan sir suggested that I dub for myself. Luckily, my efforts paid off well."

The Padmaavat actor is thrilled to be working on a film in which she has a substantial role. "I was totally impressed with my director’s five-minute narration. I then asked him for a detailed narration and wanted to know if he can wait for me until I wrap up my existing commitments. He obliged and I’m happy to have got something substantial to do in my debut film."

Aditi says that the director gave her immense respect and freedom to work. "He gave me the freedom to interpret the role in my own way. Such faith and trust in this craft matter a lot to women and that’s what makes Mohan sir special. Given a chance, I would like to work with him again."

Calling it a "realistic film", Aditi, who is paired opposite Sudheer Babu for the first time adds, "Mohan sir has kept it as realistic as possible – the characters, situations, dialogues and the emotional turmoil that each of the characters go through. The viewers will find many traits in the characters that all of them can identify with."

After making her debut with Kaatru Veliyidai, she has been flooded with offers from the South. The actor says, "I was happy doing Hindi films and one day, Mani Ratnam sir called me and offered Kaatru Veliyidai. It was only after that film that I’m getting more offers down South. Honestly, I have no language, caste, region or religion barriers and am ready to work in films which I personally connect to. As long as the role is good, I don’t mind working in any language -- Indian or foreign."

Aditi has a wish-list of directors she wants to work with in the South. "There are many talented directors I want to work with, like Gautham Menon, Mysskin, Karthik Subbaraj, Sekhar Kammula, Tharun Bhascker and Mani Ratnam, in as many films as possible," beams the actor.

About her upcoming films, she says, "I’m playing an astronaut in Sankalp Reddy’s space-thriller and I’m learning rope work in the daytime and shooting for Mani Ratnam’s Chekka Chivantha Vaanam during nights."
